Birth Review:

My husband and I hired sweet Jessica to capture the birth of our second baby girl this April. I was so hesitant about doing Birth photography, as it’s obviously a very intimate moment and the thought of having someone I’d only met a couple of times be in the room while I had a baby was initially a little unnerving. But upon my first meeting with Jessica I knew she would be the perfect photographer for the job. She made me feel so insanely comfortable. She listened to my expectations and desires for the outcome and when our styles matched up- she was hired! She checked in several times during the pregnancy and when I went into labor she was FAST on her feet and got to the birth center just as quickly as the rest of our party (good thing because it was a fast and furious birth). I honestly didn’t even notice Jessica was there for the entire birth, partially because I mean, I was in labor. But mostly because she was just super quiet and just snuck in where there was space to get her shots and that was that. After the birth she stayed for a while to get some photos of our new family for four status. This is when I got to experience her direction and coaching for posing. I am terrible at being in photos and posing right etc etc, but Jessica was a great coach and literally got the perfect shots. She edited the photos from my birth THE SAME DAY I HAD MY BABY. To be able to wake up in the morning, and relive our experience through someone else’s eyes was just indescribably beautiful. And the photos. Oh my god the photos. Indescribably beautiful. Jessica not only exceeded my entire family’s expectations of how a birthing shoot could turn out- but managed to capture moments that our family will cherish for forever. A million thank yous, Jessica. I would hire you again in a heartbeat.
